Somewhere between unlearning the 500 year lie of Columbus “discovering America,” facing eviction, writing on walls, and fighting racist propositions, she joined the movement and never looked back. Her writing can be found in the Still Here Anthology published by Foglifter Press, the Sex issue of Hyphen Magazine, and the forthcoming anthology Black Power Afterlives published by Haymarket Books. She received her MFA in Fiction at Indiana University in Bloomington. She is a writer and popular educator living in South San Francisco, raising up the next generation of community organizers and artists, striving to continue the legacies of June Jordan, Paulo Freire, and Kiilu Nyasha.
