Jean Melesaine is an uninvited guest born and raised on Ohlone land. She is a proud daughter of immigrants. She was taught photography by community members of Silicon Valley De-Bug and has worked with the org for over 10 years. She currently is attending USC School of Cinematic Arts for Film and Production to tell real stories on Samoans in the diaspora of America, specifically the Bay Area. Her mother, Sopo Masina Matai’a migrated from her village of Moamoa, Samoa to San Francisco and her late father Moaseni Tito Leasiolagi migrated to Oakland from his village Salani Faleali’li in the Atua District of Samoa.
