We’re stuck in these little cubes and it makes it really hard. During these times I’m trying to figure out, “how do I get creative?” And try to take care of my mental state and be there for justice, and be safe. But then I also have to be there for myself. It’s really hard.
I’m remembering why I love home, why I love the Bay Area so much. We’re fighters and there’s something special about this land. It’s cultivated so much resistance against the state and it still lives on today.
Being included in the conversation is also seeing one another. We have to talk to each other directly and not through the colonized lens that’s been provided, which is a distorting lens, whether it was intended to be or not.
